Low Tide was painted on site at Wolfe's Neck Farm just outside of Freeport, ME. I was taking an intensive 3 week plein air landscape class at the time and we chose to paint at Wolfe's Neck about 4 of the days and we painted rain or shine! On this particular summer day, the threat of rain hung in the air and it was quite foggy. This was a challenge to paint because of the muted and atmospheric colors. I wasn't quite sure how to paint fog. In the end, my palette is limited and the overall effect is a soft gray blue landscape. This painting is currently in my collection.
