This is a quilt of Jackie Jones' hens for the Pet Swap. I couldn't figure out how to do the barrs with fabric and I ended up photo transferring them onto fabric. The transfer was very light so I used permanent pigment pens on the barrs and other parts (?) of the hens. The feed in front of them is made up of small handsewn beads. The flowers in front of the chicken coop and the bushes are free motion embroidery done on water soluble stabilizer and handsewn. The hens were trapunted to give them a 3d dimension. The picture was then quilted around the main objects to give depth.
