This was my first serious attempt at using a Sumi brush and pen and in, and I used a masterpiece for reference. After taping off a slight frame, a light background was laid using the Sumi brush to ensure to incorporate several levels of value, and the darkest values were later created with pen and ink. The paper is a heavy and textured watercolor paper designed for water media. This medium requires much mindfulness and slow, precise movement, and the process is quite meditative and enjoyable to practice. 12" X 16" $100
