An effigy is a substitute, an image empowered by it's makers own obsession. This piece was inspired by the female figures that would grace a ship's mast. Strapped to the front of the boat, she became the proverbial dangling carrot that men followed. The image of their luck - she inspired them as often as she betrayed them. She is forever in view of the crew, the first to break the water and the ship is always going her way. Each assigns to her their own madness and quirk. Watching her every day, this goddess watching over.
