This is a piece I created for both the Orchestration show and my "Images of Ireland" show. The piece is my interpretation of a 10th century Celtic carving. It depicts a man with a set of Irish pipes, done in a style reminiscent of the Book of Kells, with gold metallic outlining and bold, bright colors on a weathered, parchment-like background. The piece has a companion, as well: "Celtic Harpist". Both pieces are painted on gallery-wrapped stretched canvas and ready to hang.
