I've always been shy about doing nudes in my paintings. I have no problem with admiring nudes in art that others have created, I just didn't feel comfortable doing it myself. This show gives me an opportunity to push myself and try new things!! I guess you could say "Modesty" really tells more about myself and my art--the woman in the painting is also shy about her nakedness! I used acrylic paints and sponged the background to create a marbled look. My curly trees and circles are also a part of my style. I love the gold background. It makes all the other colors stand out.
