This bowl is part of a series of female nude pieces exploring both physical and emotional vulnerabilities in the context of long term relationships.
This particular piece is about the very early stages of a relationship where both parties are holding back; excited but restrained.
This bowl was constructed with Bullseye art glas; meticulously hand cut, ground and assembled then kiln fired to fuse the individual pieces into one sheet of glass, then kiln fired again to slump into a plate. It is 7.5" in diameter and approx .5" deep.
It was very difficult to get a good color read in photographing this piece. The background glass is a very deep sepia brown, that often looks black unless backlit, with circle accents a vibrant chartreuse. The figure is opaque olive green with black shadows. Bright orange "stringers" accent the figure.
Each of my vessels is a one-of-a-kind, original work of art.
