*Drawing Down The Moon* is a primitive-style painting celebrating the spirit of the Maya Moon Goddess.
Traditionally depicted as a fertile young woman, the Maya Moon Goddess is most commonly associated with sexuality and procreation, fertility and growth. I chose to paint her body in the colors that I did because she is also commonly associated with water.
I did this painting in acrylics on a 9" x 12" cotton duck canvas. Underlying texture was added to the Goddess figure and the three moons using Golden Clear Matte Gel Medium. Highlights / details were created using a silver colored gel pen.
In addition, I painted the sides of the canvas black so there's no need to frame this piece if you don't want to!
I have initialed this piece on the front and signed, titled and dated it on the back.
This piece is currently available for purchase in either my eBay Store or in my Etsy Shop.
hope you enjoy this piece as much as I enjoyed creating it. Blesssed Be!
