Art: Bark by Artist Christopher Boswell
There is something sublime about a tree. Often, I take a trip to the little corner of the universe in my back yard called Point Defiance Park. When I go, it is useful to give myself an assignmment. The reason for this is not only that I am easy to distract, but that there is so much to see.

Just my luck, I assigned myself macro in the fall of 2005 in the park. I shot 40 rolls of chrome in a month and barely scratched the surface of the possiblities.

Here we have a tree that I know nothing about, other than the fact that it inspired and attracted me. I attached an extension tube and flash then began to scour the surface, as if with a microscope. This image is fun for me because it has a cool almost metallic feel to it. I constantly seem to look for items that contradict themselves. Macro or Micro? Close or Far, who really knows? Is it not all subjective?Thank you for viewing this piece!
