Red Leaves and Moss is one of my favorite paintings. I've always loved moss and here I was able to contrast its color and texture with the most incredible leaves and lighting. I opted for a soft, stylized rendering of the moss in this painting because that truly represents the feel of moss. This painting provided many challenges and while I cannot claim that I didn't have periods of frustration I do enjoy a challenge and benefit from all that I learned.
