Art: Butterfly by Artist Jonna Whetsel
I have a severe case of wanderlust. Sometimes when I feel the most caged I sit down and begin to draw imaginary three tailed birds and other free creatures. I also have my favorite doodle of the curved line you see in the butterfly repeatedly. It's a very free moving stroke. This butterfly came from a night when I felt caged and was transferring my need for freedom to the page.

I used oil pastels because I love how vivid they are and how smoothly they draw. I can't draw freedom with something scratchy!!

Butterflies are so light and free, yet they travel like little bugs of steel! This is a representation of their lightness, freedom, and personality. They are such inspiring little creatures.
