Art: The Vendor's Miser Bag by Artist Joyce White
The miser bags date back to the 1800's . I made this out of an Antique tapestry along with lace I cut the tapestry in half folded it sewed all ends together added lace around it then cut a small slit in the middle where you see the rings which are napkin rings. The bag has a small opening the rings on the bag keep it closed. Women used to make and carry these bags during the 1800's etc because when you keep the money in them it is very hard to get out or get robbed. So I made this bag and called it vendors bag because I work at shows etc, And sometimes I lose my money which falls out of purses etc ... you will see the details in the photos
