This piece was created with life casts in plaster bandage, artist board, and fabric. Due to the life-size scale, it has a very real presence in a room. As the figure projects into our 3-dimensional space, it elicits a visceral response. We find ourselves trying to put it in our frame of reference. We know it seems to be crawling into our real space, but the preconceptions about a frame on the wall negate this possibility. Our frame of reference is challenged by our awareness of another person. The result is an enjoyment of the pun and a feeling of shared appreciation.
