Modern, realistic style. I painted this work using a reference photo I took last spring of three gorgeous tulips. The actual blooms were more of a scarlet color, but because they had opened wide, to me they looked similar to my favorite flower, the California poppy (only larger). So I tweaked the color to a warmer orange simply to suit my own tastes.
