This bright sunflower pastel was painted in my kitchen looking out my window. It was a beautiful sunny morning and I had to work fast to capture the changing light. The sunflower petals catch many colors!

The special-made sanded paper catches the pastel particles and they seem to glow as they catch the light. Only the highest quality professional pastels are used in my paintings. Pastel paintings do not fade and have been known to keep their fresh appearance over 200 years.
