This painting was inspired by Edouardo Manet. His painting was Roses and Tulips. The last two years of his life he painted mostly small scale still lifes. Friends often brought him flowers. He wanted to paint them all. He always had flowers in his studio. These are my Sunflowers for manet. My painting consist of the prolific Sunflowers all over the Arizona High Country this summer.
