This is "Kiki" the orchid, she is the subject of an artistic experiment between two friends of mine (Robin McGee and Donna Gill Colestock) and myself. All three of us are EBSQ members and decided to all enter the FOTM show. We all worked from the same orchid as a reference. Even though we worked from the same subject each of our work turned out very unique. Their works are also listed in the show.
This is a digital painting, for most digital work has a negative connotation; with the assumption of use of filters, presets, and relying to heavily on the program itself. This work is actually done on a Wacom drawing pad. Using a pen instead of a mouse I drew in a sketch on a white background. I then proceeded to block in some color, followed by defining my lines and colors further. I stayed true to my painting nature this way and it looks like one of my paintings with a physical brush.
