In March, Spring sprung here in Portland, Oregon. (Of course, we already know that my two cherry trees...Lucy and Ethel...are late bloomers...and do not bloom until April). Anyway...most every other tree in the area...explodes with a dazzling array of colors...textures...shapes...and scents. These magnolia blossoms had just burst open and unfurled...I was able to catch them just at the right moment. I stood underneath this beautiful tree for awhile...looking for just the right flower to photograph...but then I noticed that they were all perfect...and the view just looked so different...from that angle...looking up from underneath...instead of looking down from above the flowers...it all made sense at the time...anyway...this is kind of how it felt to be under the magnolias: quiet...peaceful...serene...this is the view.
