This is my entry for the Flower of the Month Show: Magnolia. This piece is repousse done in copper sheet. Repousse` is the manipulation of a flat sheet of metal into a three dimensional form using a series of punches and a pitch bowl. A little drama in metal, isn't that what we all need? Just a couple of buds, one starting to open, the other in anticipation of the process. Spring is here, time to get on with it. This is mounted in a black frame attached to a pane of glass and appears suspended in the middle. (see detail)
