"Ferns" is a unique original watercolor. It is painted on 140lb Rough press Artistico paper with artist quality granulating paints. It measure 8"x10", painted to the edge. I had a brainstorm one night after seeing the upcoming Ferns exhibit. I thought of pressing some fern from my garden, painting the back with masking fluid and using it as a sort of stencil. I love how this turned out! The paint has wonderful granulation and flow on the paper, and the ferns created fantastic shape! The fern and masking is removed from the painting and I used some watercolor pencil to finish it off.
