This oil was painted on gessoed hardboard. I use Griffin alkyds and paint mutiple layers. I placed the ferns in the foreground to give the piece more depth. The inspiration came from a hike aound the island of Kauai. This is a little grotto of Koi shrouded in ferns. A small piece of primordial heaven ! The ferns are Sadleria Pallida.
