There are over 20 different types of ferns here in the Pacific Northwest. I live just a stones throw from Olympic National Park and Olympic National Forest, so I'm heavily inspired by all of the fantastic flora and fauna to be found here. The least of which is the amazing beauty in the ferns! This piece is from my "Impressions" Series. Paintings are a continuation of abstract expressionist views of the beautiful Clallam Bay, Washington State and the surrounding temperate rainforests and coast. The piece is 24x36" gallery wrap canvas. The mixed media used here is stucco material, hand made papers and real pressed fern leaves. All sealed well under the miracle of acrylic!
