This piece is based on a black and white photograph of a friend running through a farmer's field in Wisconsin. The ripe wheat contrasted with the blur of trees in the background. This was an exciting day; we were surprised by the farmer carrying his shotgun. I moved the camera slightly while taking the photo to get the motion effect. I've tried to capture that feeling of movement in this painting.
