in a tiny world

In a tiny Honey Possum's world

This piece started off as a day time piece, and then I went and saw the movie AVATAR and I fell in love with the night time forest scenes and with how the plant life was illuminated and magical, so I think a little bit of that spilled over into this piece.

The magic of the forest is what made me call this piece "Heavenly Chandeliers". The Honey Possum is the tiny creature (only about 6-9cm long!!!!) included in this piece. They are primarily nocturnal and cannot live without a continuous supply of nectar. They like feeding on the eucalyptus flowers.

For these tiny creatures, I imagine these beautiful, enticing flowers are like ambrosia (food of the gods!) and for these tiny creatures in a tiny world - the night sky must seem decked with these enchanting, decadent, heavenly chandeliers.

I hope you enjoy the little trip into my tiny world where we roam the night and feed on ambrosia and look up at a sky decked with heavenly chandeliers everywhere we go - what a life! :)
