This painting was created for the monthly online flower show on EBSQ. I used a book on bulbs; in the background are each of the common names used for daffodils that I found in my source book. For the texture I used gold leaf and various texture gels and pastes (stucco, glass beads) and also some actual pink beads which I attached with modelling paste.
The names were as interesting as the flowers! Various daffodil varieties include: February Gold, Dutch Master, Fortune, Flower Record, Geranium, Gold Ducat, Golden Harvest, Hawera, Ice Follies, Jetfire, Jack Snipe, Mount Hood, Orangery, Sir Winston Churchill, Salome, Tahiti, Tete-a-tete, Van Sion, Thalia, Actaea. Each of these words is somewhere in the painting.....identify all of the words in your spare time....something fun to do like a word-find!
