A root wash or poultice from the Black-eyed Susan has been used by the Ojibwa and other Native people to cure sores, snake bites and swelling. It is related to Echinacea and in the Aster / Daisy family.
The finest quality pastels and archival sanded paper were used to produce this art. I have depicted the afternoon sun washing across the flowers. Pastel has a unique ability in catching the light when the painting is displayed!
