This exceptional watercolor by Miriam Schulman depicts purple alliums in a garden. This painting is drawn first in pencil and then painted by hand with artist grade watercolors. The title of the piece comes from the White Flower farm catalog as these flowers grow very well in the shade. I was particularly drawn to the subject because if the contrasts of the purple and green that occurred naturally in nature were exciting.
This work was on display at the Madeleine Gutman Gallery at the Greenburgh Town Hall in New York. Other pieces in this exhibit were published in the New York Times.
