I find painting water as a subject so intriguing and challenging. The hot reflection of the changing Fall leaves on the surface of the water is the main focus of this piece. The "calmness" of the water's surface holds the firery color well. Painted with complementary colors of orange and blue, the name 'Fire on Water" just fits!
This piece was created as a barter with our architech. He said "I'll draw up some plans for one 3 foot by 3 foot painting of your choice of subject" I was thrilled! I created it with several layers of paint until I was happy with the result. It took me about 2 months to complete it.
