I recently began working with oils, and when I visited the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival I was amazed at the beauty of farm life. I took many reference photos, not only of the lovely tulips, but barns, cows, sheep, horses and other animals. These three cows, munching away in the morning mist captivated my imagination. I wanted to capture the beautiful warm greens of the field and the fog in the distance, as well as the rough and beautiful shape of these gentle creatures. This was my first complete oil painting, and I am proud to be able to show it here.
