Well, She TRIED....

Hey diddle diddle,

The cat and the fiddle,

The cow TRIED to jump over the moon,

But she had no luck,

and therefore got stuck,

and that's where she stayed until June!

Poor Bessie (the cow). She tried to jump over it, but she got stuck on the moon! Talk about getting caught "between the moon and New York City"!! She took that line seriously!! ;)

This fun and whimsical piece depicts a cow hanging on the moon, and there's a planet (with a ring around it) off in the distance, and of course the earth below with it's continents and oceans. There's a lot of twinkling little stars in the sky, but that's a different nursery rhyme altogether! ;)

I chose to take the old familiar nursery rhyme (since everyone knows how it is SUPPOSED to go) and turn it on it's head... I mean, seriously, just think about it... Why would a cow jump over the moon? Why would they even want to try? Hmmm.... Cows in Space...

I tried hard to be sensitive and respectful of the feelings of the many cows that will be viewing this exhibition, but they are just such DARN silly creatures always getting into all sorts of wacky situations that I couldn't help but poke alittle bit of fun at 'em!
