When I was a little girl i used to spend summers on the high pastures of the Italian Alps (just like Heidi :-)); the cows were walked up there at the beginning of the summer from the plaines, for greener grass and relief from the heat (I think). I really enjoyed being around cows and their babies. At bedtime I used to imagine all the animals sleeping in their "beds".

With this painting I just wanted to portray the peaceful time before going to sleep of a sweet cow in a summer night. Good night, cow.
