Every thing about this story seems wrong, immoral and devious. Jael comes off as a siren of death and Siscera certainly an arrogant and demeaning man. Yet she is heralded as a heroin, because she answered the call of God without question, fear or reluctance. I can not imagine what that took. But I must say it is even further proof that His ways are not our ways, but yet again higher.  In this modern age we question debate and explain the things of God, label the people of God, and wrap the divinity into our own, convenient, pretty lil carry-on bag without a second thought.  But God will not be put in a box, does not need to explain himself to us because we don't know, can't know and more than likely don't want to know his plan. All were are given is His word,  His love, His presence and for us that has to be enough and for Jael it was.
