My painting is meant to represent the social impact that the Beatles, and pop bands like them, have on pre-teens, and teens. It's meant to evoke a certain feeling, and is not based on any specific member or song, but on the band's impact as a whole. This impact is still visible today in bands like 'N SYNC (shudder) and the such. I was trying to explore the hormonal imbalance and confusion of pre-teens who "religiously" follow a band without fully understanding why. I remembered how my hormones were in overdrive when I was 14... I'm not going to say who/what I was fixated on, but I think most people remember that stage in their life. Unfortunately, as time progresses, pre-teens are subjected to more violent lifestyles, and these fixations are not as innocent as they were in the 60's. Therefore, I kept my entry simple and used cheerful colors to symbolize that, while these teens are confused and trying hard to fit in, they are mostly innocent and hopeful. I made the figures androgynous and faceless to show a universal message.
