My best friend Jamie died when I was 15 - I think about him everyday. This piece is dedicated to him. He loved music - all kinds, but especially cheesy happy music. He used to wake me up playing "hippie" music (Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, etc.) on his guitar. When I listened to the Beatles for inspiration on this show, all I could see was his face.

The second connection this piece has to the Beatles is Lennon's death. I think that Lennon's death was to Beatles fans what Jamie's death was to me... I looked up to him and he brought joy to my life.

This piece wasn't as much about the impact the Beatles had on the 21st century as it is about the impact they have on my personal world
