Byron and Wild Roses

Art: Byron and Wild Roses by Artist MARY ANNE Z. O'SULLIVAN
Byron was a pure white natural Persian, with big blue eyes. When he would purr it sounded like singing somehow. An unusual purr. This is him one June posing in the wild roses. He was great to photograph because he was a ham...always pretending not to notice me taking his photo.

Because this show calls for Black and White I stuck to the purest of no color and gray scaled the photograph to insure this.
I'm surprised how much stronger it looks in pure B&W.

I took this with my old Canon slr, 85mm lens, using 400 speed film, and let it choose the aperture setting and auto focus since my eyes are not as good as they used to be. I cropped the photo to emphasize the cat's head and striking eyes, and adjusted the contrast.
