This is a picture that was taken at the Traverse City Asylum that was opened in 1885. This was the first Northern Michigan Asylum built. It was called the Traverse City State Hospital (Psychiatric Hospital). The hospital was closed in 1989. The architecture of the buildings are beautiful. Some say this place is haunted.
