A is for Apple. L is for Lion. Z is for Zebra. The alphabet cards taped to the wall over the blackboard are a fixture in class rooms everywhere. They are familiar, comfortable and predictable... until now. It's time to take the alphabet card and turn on its ear, kick it up a notch and take it for a ride. Give the alphabet a new life with something quirky or just plain out and out bizarre. Plumb the depths and explore the outer reaches of your language. After all - A, L, and Z are also for atelier, lobotomy and zoologist.
All entries must include, not only the illustration, but the letter it represents as a key component of the composition. If the subject is obscure or conceptual, the word should appear as well.
A statement detailing the materials, process, and the impetus that went into the creation of each piece is required. It increases understanding of your work and significantly enhances the experience for the viewer. If a piece contains fine detail or is 3 dimensional, detail shots are encouraged.
