I have always been taken by supermarket bulletin boards and fadded, torn advertizement signs. The haphazzard mixing of images and words. The words that disappear and letters that once belonged to something else. I had those visual experiences in mind when I experimented with this work. I played with the idea of the letter nine and the German word for No (nein). This work combines images and letters and numbers without regard to there purpose or place. They simply become part of the whole visual experience and yet lead the viewer to the parts and create a sense of confussion as to the meaning.
