This is a photograph of a pair of dancers rehearsing the Spanish Dance in The Nutcracker. They are doing a step in parallel, facing a mirror (as all dancers do). She is to his left. Her image is a reflection. I feel this is oddly appropriate for the "Looking Glass" show as Alice has passed through the glass and is happily dancing. Her suitor reaches for her but can never quite hold her. Just as in the story where Alice chases and never achieves, this young man can not grasp his "Alice."
