This piece was totally inspired by a drawing of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland made by my daughter when she was a little girl.
Depicted is the scene at the beginning of the story when Alice falls in the hole while going after the rabbit.

I wanted to maintain the child-like style details: like the white circle (=hole), the big hands, the huge butterflies and the large hole in the tree...

After drawing with ink, I used watercolors; after scanning the image, I enhanced the colors digitally.
