This painting was a little different as I was specifically trying to build up the media to a thick impasto surface without the aid of non-acrylic elements. Although it took about two days to dry, I succeeded. Some of the "peaks" extend an inch or more off the canvas.
I consider all my abstract work to be exercises in controlled passion. The need to move the paint around without inhibition, adding color at whim is tempered by the constant danger of creating mud.
