This month we celebrate work dealing with mental illness, physical difficulties, and other challenges. We ask that all work submitted is respectful and focused on hope and healing. While your approach to this theme is up to you, only work including a statement explaining your pieces' relevance to the theme will be accepted. The Member's Choice winner will receive $100 cash. Good luck!
Vanitas is symbolic artwork, most often still life, that reflects on one’s vanity and the transience of life. Think of it as a themed still-life as self-portrait. We challenge you to create your own vanitas still life either in the traditional Flanders/Dutch style, or your own style.
This month, we challenge you to illustrate your favourite lyrics. Artists should cite the song quoted in their artist statement and give a brief explanation of why they chose their song and their particular visual interpretation. The Member's Choice winner will be awarded $100 cash. Good luck!
We're trying something a bit different this month. This exhibit is open to all media, for both nude AND clothed figures. The only caveat is that entries must be in good taste with no visible genitals in the composition. The Member's Choice winner will be awarded a $100 cash prize. So what are you waiting for? Go forth and art!
Missed entering an exhibit in 2015? No problem! Share your late entry here. The only caveat is that the piece was created in 2015 and meets all of the other requirements of the missed exhibit.
JRR Tolkien (1892-1973) created languages and worlds which still inspire us today. This month we challange you to visually interpret the essays, novels, and poems of this beloved author. Be sure to include the title of the work you're interpretting!

This holiday, meant to remember loved ones on All Souls Day on November 2, has really transcended its religious origins and has entered the larger popular culture. We'd love to see your take!
This month, we take an astrological turn. Whether you're more interested in the Greco-Roman zodiac that rules the current daily horoscope, or the Chinese zodiac many people only experience via placemats in Chinese restaurants, we invite you to celebrate the personifications of these signs and symbols in art.
In 2015, we retired our monthly Flower of the Month exhibits after a decade of fantastic floral work. But that doesn't mean we've abandoned our botanical artists. This month is your chance to shine! For the sake of simplicity, we're going from this Wikipedia article on Floral Emblems, which encompasses both national and regional (state, province, county, etc) flowers. It can be one piece or a combination, or your inter...
