The image of Poe is based on the 'Thomson' daguerrotype made just a few weeks before Poe's death at the age of 40.
The other imagery is of course taken from his best know poem 'The Raven'. It illustrates the raven's tapping at the window and its perching on the bust of Pallas above the door.
I made a custom frame and decorated it with the word 'Nevermore' - the raven's entire vocabulary. Thus the frame becomes an integral part of the image.
