Still life in the 21st century is a completely new world to explore, as technology brings new subjects for modern painting. For The 21st century Still life show I chose to paint some technological devices. These devices and the dependency we have on them make us the true subjects for still life these days. The computer is one of those devices that we spend most of our time with. We stare at the glowing screen and our bodies become catatonic and lifeless. In this charming painting I capture that feeling of being lifeless as we become one with these gadgets. In this illustration the lovely character has no other choice than to stare at the screen even in her birthday. We are the unanimated objects in the still life of the 21st century.
