There is nothing that gives me more the sensation of Liberty, i.e. Freedom and peace, than chilling out on a deserted beach and staring out at the sea between my toes and seeing nothing, or just an ocassional passing sailboat, clipping along nicely in a soft summer breeze. What could be more relaxing and mindless?

I often take my camera to the beach and one morning a boat sailed by on the horizon. I imagine that the people on board were also experiencing the same sensation of Liberty or Freedom in the vast, open calm waters as I was on shore.

The original photo of the sea with the boat and feet lacked punch. A new horizon with waves was added and the boat placed in roughly the same position as in the original, but slightly to the left for balance. A more attractive sky was layered in. The original photo was somewhat dull so color adjustment was made to convey the warmth of a sultry mid-morning day before the heat bears down.

Finally a paper texture was added to give it a painterly look.
