This painting began on a stormy day at Cape Canaveral Wildlife Preserve, on the beach. It is done in a loose, gestural manner, using oil crayons. Because it was a stormy day, the wind was howling and grains of sand are embedded in the paint. It was completed at home in my Orlando studio. I really love the composition and strong diagonals of this piece. You can feel the energy at the horizon; where the black sea meets the sky.
