This image is all about the control of depth of field and Bokeh with each successive girl being a little more out of focus and the highlights breaking up the shapes to almost looking like brush strokes. You may need to view it larger to really see this effect.
I had about a dozen of these trophies for an event I was organizing and I decided they needed to model for me first! Actually I had them sitting in front of a shaded window and noticed the specular highlights on them .
There is no digital trickery here save for some minor tweeking of contrast and saturation, this image is as it was created in camera, the Bokeh is created by using a Nikkor F1.8 50mm lens wide open mounted on a Nikon D200 and controlling the exposure with shutter speed.
