I grew up with books like "Chariots of the Gods." I've always had a fascination with legends like Quetzecoatl. Was this priest, who supposedly helped the Aztecs and the Mayans build their pyramids, an ancient astronaut? This legendary hero influenced both the Aztecs and the Mayans and taught concepts in Math and Astronomy. I used one of my photographs from Chitzen Itza to capture the distinct mayan architecture and create the ancient portal in oil.
