This image is from a continuing body of work which I have dubbed “Surrealities.” Drawn forth from my imagination and executed with basic materials—bristol board, color pencil and ebony pencil—I work to achieve subtle marks and overlapping luminous colors as a backdrop for my dark ebony pencil line drawings. Soft undefined edges enhance the dream-like quality of these surreal landscapes.
