- Red Poppies
A delightful 14 karat solid yellow gold parakeet egg pysanky pendant, perfect for the pysanky lover or anyone with an appreciation for fine handmade jewelry. I call this design Red Poppies and it is abut the size of a penny, a little narrower than it is tall. It would look terrific with a plain black top or even that facy little dress saved for special occasions and it is sure to be a great conversation piece.
This lovely little pendant was made using the traditional batik wax and dye process on a real blown parakeet egg, injected and then sealed with UV resistant topcoat and then several coats of a special crystal clear polymer finish to give strength and durability. (this is the same finish often used on countertops to seal coins, bills and other memorabilia into the surface.)
The level of difficulty when using the parakeet eggs is not quite as high as the finch egg earrings, but still very challenging. Once the special polymer finish is applied, they are amazing strong and can withstand any big hugs you may receive.
the pearl cup finding is 14 karat solid gold, not gold-plated or gold-filled and is stamed on the back. Gold chain not included. Pendant comes in a gold foil gift box, tied with a red ribbon ready for gift giving.
